Scroll down to Xbox Peripherals and disable (one at a time) each Xbox controller and reboot as prompted If so, continue to the Device Manager (Start Menu-device-enter) Open Game Controller Panel (Start Menu-controllers-enter)Ĭheck how many game controllers are connected (only the ones recongnized as Xbox controllers will work with the game)ĭouble Click each Xbox controller and check if one of them responsive Make sure controller has been connected as Xbox controller I don't know what causes this to happen, but if anyone else has the same issue I have a fix.Ĭonnect DS4 (works with new and old DS4 plus the official sont adapter for pc) I fixed this by going into device manager and disable the xbox controllers until the only one left was the responsive one, making it P1. This explains why in Rocket League (Steam) when I use my controller it would only register as P2, but if I used my PS4 contorller raw (without the use of 3rd party software because Rocket League has native DS4 support) I was able to play as player one since the top (slot one) controller was my DS4 controller and not the unresponsive Xbox controller. Assuming that the very top one (first listed and unrespinsive one) was considered to be in slot 1 or player 1, I realized that the working controller must be in slot 2 as player 2. The first of which was unresponsive, but the second was the working one. When opening up the game controller panel I would see 2 Xbox controllers. In any case, even if a game doesn't play nicely with your controller out of the box, as long as your OS recognizes your controller's inputs, there are ways to map it into a game to your liking (via tools like JoyToKey, or DS4Windows, or even by launching a game via Steam).Īdditionally, some games (looking at you, shit console ports) have hard-bound control schemes which are so bad, that you'll want to use a mapper anyway.I did some digging and I found a few things. So the easiest way to figure it out, is to know what controller you have, what API it uses (XInput, DirectInput) and ask Google about "game's name + that API's name". Unlike Steam, GOG Galaxy does not provide a controller input ingestion/translation layer, so when you want to figure out how to use your controller in a game bought on GOG, you need not consider GOG itself (except for that asterisk cases). ![]() *unless it's an old game which was wrapped in an emulation layer, then the support is dictated by that emulation layer (which technically was chosen/applied by GOG). The controller support of a particular game is dictated by the game itself No, neither GOG, nor the Galaxy launcher support any particular kind of controller* Is there a particular controller that GOG supports for PC gamers (my desktop is a Windows 10 PC)?
